For the "96" Fun Rally on Saturday September 20
We will meet under the lighthouse at the Beacon starting at
9:00 AM with the first cars off at 9:30. You will receive a
rally sheet with route directions and questions to answer about things you
encounter on the way. On the route you will visit an early 1900's general
store, which is not open to the public, and there will be questions about items
in the store.
The rally destination is the Ninety Six
National Historic Site in Ninety Six, SC. Ninety Six figured prominently
in the Southern campaign of the American Revolution, and in 1781 General
Nathaniel Greene staged the longest siege of the war against the loyalists who
were defending the fort at Ninety Six. The site includes a British Star
Fort, a stockade fort and a furnished log cabin.
The rally will conclude at the park picnic
area so pack a picnic lunch and a dish to pass. A prize will be
awarded for the most correct answers.
